I think using a Facebook Page to communicate with parents is an awesome idea. I have actually had one for a while, but never really used it too much. I'm hoping to learn more in this cohort so it can become a much more effective communication tool for me!

I have been working with Twitter since this past summer, and I must admit - I still am not wild about it. I find that there is so much to sift through - - although I have started TweetDeck and that makes it a little easier to determine what is there.

You have a valid point, Laura! Teachers may not need all of the analytics available in social media sites. We are already suffering from information overload, right? Knowing your audience, your growth, and what kinds of posts receive the most interaction can help us define our sharing goals. There's a certain level of frustration associated with spending time publishing content for your audience and feeling like nobody's listening! Focus on the analytics that matter to you.

I agree! I've tried and tried Twitter many times, and just can't get into it. I like Facebook's format a million times better.
